...from the wild chicken chase. I found out that the people weren't going to be home tonight so I went along. We saw seven total, they were roosting in the trees, and we dislodged them by throwing an empty Hawaiin Punch bottle at them. Jake caught three out of the seven, all three are roosters. One is a banty, one is a game rooster and believe it or not, the last one caught was a Rhode Island Red. Not as big as Big Red was but he's young yet. Funny how things work out.

Alright Cindi! Got you some new birds now! :) Thanks for keeping us up on things, another great story to add to the pile. I will have to remember that Hawaiian Punch bottle technique if my chickens get outta line! LMAO!

Are you catching them bare hand? Used to use 6 to 10 foot pole with heavy wire hook at end- get hook around chicken leg and pull down from tree, machine shed rafter, barn roof brace. RN

Sorry so long...    Posted 05-02-2004 at 04:32:24       [Reply]  [No Email] reply. I got on last night and had to get right back off. Weather. Which is one of the reasons why we used the Hawaiin Punch bottle. Less likely to get struck by lightning. It was a sight, Jake running around in his cleats with no socks, Jill running behind him in flip flops. We were nothing less than amateurish.
