Well, I had the problem on Friday of not knowing what to do with my hateful rooster. Problem solved. He came after my pregnant wife and scared her and she convinced me it was time. We waited from him to go to bed and the set up the chopping block and sharpened the axe......done deal. Now are fat old boy can move back into the coop with the rest of the flock. He thinks he is in heaven, he can hang out with the girls without looking over his shoulder. Life is good.

LOL We had a big white leghorn rooster that used to stalk me. Even when we were on opposite sides of the aviary. He just came up against me once too much and I pointed my finger at him and yelled, "Your name is DINNER!" When my husband slaughtered him, cleaned him, etc., I put him in a big soup pot -- his butt still stuck up! I boiled him a very long time, then made chicken stew. And was it good. And did I ever enjoy it, knowing how much he'd harrassed me.

I have a barred rock who is about to get named "Stew". I have to carry a cane in when I go to get eggs. He protects the duck eggs more than the chicken. And he allows squirrels to wander in the aviary. Silly fellow thinks he's a duck and has tried to mount some of the ducks. I don't know what we'd call the offspring -- dicken or chuck????
