...a boy will give his mother just a glimpse of a softer side of himself that she will treasure for all time. I stumbled over this photo, and while I try to see this sweet side in Jake, more often than not, it's hard to spot. So anytime I get to feeling like he one big hard knot, with no redeeming characteristics, I can pull out this picture. I think I'll have it made into a locket. It is by far, my favorite.

When my 29y/old was 12 his sister- my 17y/old daugter- was born. That boy's life was watching the baby's every move. And it was like that until he joined[sp] the marines. He still looks after her as a father does. Now he has two boys of his own.
