Just returned from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston yesterday. After many tests I was told that I have lung cancer with not much hope. Am not scared , just concerned with what my family may have to go thru. Any and all of your prayers would be greatly appreciated. The Good Lord is still in charge of this situation. Best Regards To All, Doc

Take a deep breath and do what you can to be a survivor. Start here... http://www.drday.com/. she is a cancer suvivor. Yes, there are things on her website to purchase, but even just reading her story will inspire you to survive. I would start eating every cancer fighting vegetable I could get my hands on... and the internet is an awesome tool to help find out what foods do what. Good luck and may the angels be with you.

Doc -
Sorry to hear about the bad news. We will keep you & yours in our nightly prayers. Despite it all keep a positive attitude and talk to the Big Man upstairs.

If any solace my Dad is beating heart disease and colon cancer daily - original estimate was 6 mo. over 3 yrs. ago. He has learned about it, come to grips with it and takes it one day at a time. By His Grace.

Not a believer, but I'll send positive thoughts your way. You can beat it, I know many who have, be strong. Be well.

Doc You have a great big caring family here that will be with You.
As others have mentioned,"it ain't over till it's over" and those are words to heed. I know a fellow that had His 5th operation along with Chemo and all some 20 years ago. He is still alive and kickin long after most people have died of old age and He was told a long time back there was little or no hope.
DO NOT GIVE IN !

Dan G/Soganofla    Posted 03-03-2002 at 06:09:00       [Reply]  [No Email]
Doc, you got prayers comin' from Soganofla, too.

That is certainly some rotten news, but, in the cosmic scheme of things, it is just another hand in Life's poker game. Like any other poker hand, how you play it makes a lot of difference. You seem to be playing it with courage, and thoughtful consideration for your family, and I applaud that. Let our prayers bolster your courage, and that, in turn, will help your family through whatever is coming.

Will do Doc. You're right about God being in charge. Prayer is an amazing thing.

Hey Ol' Hoss,you still around?

Mark Hendershot    Posted 03-02-2002 at 19:45:41       [Reply]  [Send Email]
That is hard to deal with, I was there once and 3 months later the Doctors said they were wrong. The depression did more harm to me while waiting. The human body can do wonders for itself by keeping a positive attitude to keep your heath at it's best. This will be a tring time for your family but keep active and enjoy life just as if you did not know. God Be With You and Think of the good things you can still do with your family. Mark Hendershot
