You quit your job so you could stay home and raise me yourself
Instead of stashing me on some daycare shelf
You taught me values, and that while there's lots of "shades of gray",
there's also black and white, and sometimes only one right way
You taught me to love books, and made reading FUN, not STUDY
Though my best friend, you always were a MOM, and not a BUDDY
You taught me kindness, laughter, love, hard work and loyalty
And that God gave us everything we have, are, and will be.
Now, there's no way to thank you, except to work to be,
Half as good a parent as the Mom you were to me.

I enjoy any kind of country poem in all types of poetry as each type is a certain mood that expresses a certain unique feeling at that exact moment. To feel someone elses soul through there poetry is a wonderful way to touch your heart in that warm soft comforting feeling. I write poetry but I donot think I am a good poem creator but it comes straight from my heart. A country poem is such a beautiful way to show who you really are.
I have enjoyed your great reading about poems and poetry.
Take care
A poem lover at heart:)
