Race Horse Track Times Question ???

I was reading something in the paper here about the Kentucky Derby and the other triple crown races and I wondered if the times for race horses have improved very much over the years. Compare any olympic records for races, jumping, throwing etc. and we see a drastic difference between today and say 80 years ago but what about horses? Are the times for the triple crown races considerably different than they were years ago. I realize track conditions are a factor but lets compare on the same track condition. I'd like to know how the times have changed (if they have).

I have wondered about that too. I'll bet you can go google and do "Kentucky Kerby" and do a little searching. I would do it for you but I am tied up. Just taking a little break. Report back if you find out anything interesting.
