I want to buy a brand new Oval, never seen one. We will put it in our family room as the center place. Has anyone had experience with an Oval or anyother wood cook stove??? I have never used one only dreamed of one.

Take a trip to Lehman's in person if you possibly can, it's well worth it.

They have a big stove showroom with lots of models and makers, and knowledable folks (Amish and Mennonite) to talk about features and such. And if you drive and bring a trailer, you can save the shipping cost, too, which would pay for a day trip there.

Oh sure, when i grew up that's all we had. In winter it took a full, (maybe 2ft x 4 ft x 3 ft tall) stacked woodbox/day, summer about half that. I was the designated lucky one to keep it full. Guess i shouldn't complain tho, i'm old now and still like wood. Boy mom made great bread & buns in that thing. And we always had warm water.:)
