Oh,yum! Dear husband and son had a delivery in Ventura today. I asked them to stop at any of the fruit stands and pick up what they liked. They brought back a huge box of Valencia oranges, a bag of the most delicious cherries, a 1/2 flat of strawberries that are so sweeeet!, and four avocados. I can make the strawberries into preserves. The cherries I'll just eat! The avocados are for guacamole and omlettes. First thing my son asked for for the oranges was orange chicken. It is baking right now and smells heavenly. A friend gave me a recipe for and four quarts of lemon marmalade he made in the microwave. So I'll just revamp the recipe for orange marmalade. And then there's fresh squeeze orange juice. Maybe a drink of strawberries and orange and ice. Peach season should be hitting soon.

Oh! Trader Joe's has buffalo burgers. Four burgers, 20 oz total, for $4.99. I bought some yesterday. Made with just good old grain-fed American bison. I broiled for the guys. They went wild. I didn't eat one (had to eat a Jenny Craig meal because I gained two pounds this weekend), but I tasted some of the "gravy". Good stuff. Charley Brown's is a fascinating store in Pearblossom. They advertise buffalo. I'll check next time I'm there to see what their price of burger is.

Enjoying reading what's happening with everyone out there. We had two animal emergencies this a.m. Two of our ducks had lame right legs. The drakes get rather rough. We had to construct an emergency place for them, away from the others. Then one of our does had an abcess that was oozing. So we took care of that and had to separate her. All the others are just great and behaved wonderfully while husband and son were gone. We did have one delivery while they were out. Forty-seven boxes of computer equipment. The delivery driver is small and called his office to see if he could take it back for delivery another day. They told him to work with it. I did the paperwork while he manipulated the jack and I cleared space for him. Lots more work to do!

Since it's 5:30 here, a lot of you will be getting ready to turn in, so I'll say good-night!

sharon, that all sounds delicious, even the bison burgers.
Sounds like you had a good day. It is 8:00 PM here in Texas, not bed time yet. ;-)
