any of you folks use one around your place? wonderin about how they work for you? looking to get one maybe.

seen that the old mazdas had perkins engines.

izuzus look good too and seem to be plentiful enough to find parts.

been told the toyotas had weak transmissions.

them vw rabbit trucks look too light.

just curious about them enough to ask-

My brother has an old dorF stranger 2wd 4sp long bed with a ton of miles on it. Not real good milage, about 22 or so, but its as tough as nails. Think the only thing he's ever done to it is overhaul the injector pump-at about 150,000 or so-& put in a starter in it. IMHO, it rides a lot like its older bronco relative & like all those old first generation strangers it seems short on cab room to me, but I'm comparing it to a full sized pickup, as I've never owner a small pick-up. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

you bet. they'll be scarce onct fuel gets up over $3 a cupful!

i'd get a mule if i could figure out how to
put a cup holder on one.

I haven't done any research on em but I will in the near future....looking to get one for my next run around town vehicle.Keep us posted on what ya find out OK? I have heard that the Toyota's are having tranny problems also.
