My Great Uncle Dan planted these over 50 years ago...He was an Arborist, Gatherer, and Lily Breeder of some renown...I used to have 3 hills/bunches, but over the last 20 years, 2 o the bunches have died...I have priced them with the thought of replacing the ones that died...Suffice it to say I can not afford it...

Salmoneye,

Saw your post and had to run to my orchids nursery, yours look so much like one I inherited[?] from my mom. Hasn't bloom yet. Is your lady slipper from the orchids family? Gotta check it out.
Although I doubt it would be the same, because of the zone difference?

You better keep those a secret.
While mowing yesterday I discovered a Jack in the Pulpit. I told Sharon where it was. She went looking for it. Came back and said she couldn't find it. I went out and could hardly find it either because she had stepped right on it :(

If you need any...    Posted 05-20-2004 at 14:12:10       [Reply]  [No Email]
Not only do I have about a thousand Jacks (two different colours), but I know where they grow wild not far from Trevor and Mutt...

Up off Old Duke road on a cross-lot trail called 'Rabbit Run'...

Trevor has come back to work for us for the summer. I haven't gone up to see him yet. I see Mutt almost every week. I wish there was a way to clone that guy and a few of the other great tree people we have.
