once again my bag was checked upon my leaving the local wal mart. i have been in other wm's and never have had a bag checked. i guess this place must target (profile) fat, bearded, middle aged men. one of these times i will flip out!!!!

the bottom line is i don't like being treated like i am a thief and they USE the older folks to do the bag checking so's you don't yell at them.

I hear you Steve, the real bottom line is you can tell a thief by how much he trusts other people. I would be suspicious of that store manager if I were you.

Steve when ever you feel victomized by Walton's just think of the poor Oriental Chineese family I just saw in the parking lot up there. A big piece of the pavement collapsed and they almost took their van back home to China express. I think Waltons have been sneaking in their off shore products through that hole and avoiding customs Eh.

I personally can not go into a wally world. There is somethingthey use, maybe a cleaning agent, and in a few minutes I get very sick. Doesn't stop my wife from going there, she is at the new super version now. I too would love to have one of those bumber stickers. They did some dirty deeds getting the aforementioned super shop opened and running in our area.

I have a bumper sticker on my truck that reads "WAL MART SUCKS life from communities" when I do have to go to wally world I always try and wear my Union Colors. If they try and check my purchase as I leave I just keep walking and tell them to call the police. Should they do so they will find no stolen merchandise then I will glady sue the crapola out of them. That is the reason I quit Sam's Club. When you join you submit to being searched every time you walk out of the place.

I found those free disk for Wallmarts IP service at 9.95 bucks a month.I asked the lady if it was long distance to get online in this county,She says.I dont know. You would think if she is in the computer dept she should know. Well,I loade a copy.Sure enough there was no local number to get online. But you can then read the fine print. AOL is the owner..You have to pay by credit card or checking at bank.If they take it out of your check,Add five bucks A month.

It doesn't take alot but ya gotta say something that will make them remember you and hassle somebody else - like ask them where the wigs/pantyhose are. Or if they think you'd look good as a blonde. Or if the machettes are sharp. Or just burp and point at them. :)

I have never so much as been looked at in a store let alone 'checked' at the door on the way out...

Maybe it is a regional thing...

Sam Walton started with a little store, one store. I am surprised that as much as people bellyache about Wal-Mart that some of them have not started their own store. I do not do a lot of shopping but I have noticed that other stores will check your bags if you carry anything in the store and sometimes they check your reciept as you leave as well.

Well Sid (and Salmoneye), some people just ain't happy unless they can be bellyachin about sumpthin and it's pretty cool these days to make Wal-Mart the target. Why those people don't just shut up and go somewhere else is a mystery to me. But then they wouldn't have anything to b!tch about, I suppose.
Salmoneye, I think it must be regional. I don't even know what they're talking about with this "bag checking".

I don,t think it,s regional but just the manager as we have two stores in town and difference between day and night.I drive 10 extra miles just to be content. amd I don,t like wally world but we are stuck with it now. The good manager who I talked too about the bad one said thatwhat happens is not their way of doing business

Bag checking? They do it in three towns around here. Depending on how you are dressed..Like if you go in the store looking like you work for a living and get dirty doing that,Then you are likely to get inspected. Why? Because they confuse working folks for bums and well dressed shysters for honest folks. The lady in another town made me walk through the beeper twice because I ran through the store in a hurry to get back to work. She held my bag while I ran through the checkpoint.I would bet security saw me looking like I was in a hurry and signalled her..My opinion is that..Use the checkers and undercover guys to check out your stuff so you can get out of the store. There may be a line ten people long waiting to check out because there are few running cash registers. The people at the door could be better utilized.I have ,Several times.Left my basket in the checkout isle because the lines are too long. Yes.You can go to other businesses but Wallmarts has PR men who are paid extremely well. Why not let them earn their checks? But,,I do go to Wallmart and buy things. On the other hand I am not their PR man.I have my own opinions on improvements. You notice they ask?

Patria    Posted 05-23-2004 at 09:39:27       [Reply]  [No Email]
yeap..they can check my receipt on my way out, and they do. Not my bag..we would all have to wait for a police officer and my lawyer.

It's just busy work for the ladies at the door. If you go out the garden section, they have a little old man that will look at your reciept, and he has a yellow highlighter marker, and he puts aline on your reciept, don't know why.

Now, when I go to take something back, the little old lady they have to put the pink return sticker on your item asks you what you are bringing back, and I tell her, and she says, oh okay, I ask because I have to write it down when you come in. Busy work, thats all I can see.

If you don't set off the "DING! Weare sorry, blah blah blah" I don't know why they would look in your bag though. Just busy work.

Much of the things you want can be bought by mail order much cheaper.I just spent 75 bucks for a hard drive at Wallmarts this weekend.I should have mail ordered online saved money and got exactly what I wanted.Yes,They like to look in your bags. Those folks up at6 headquarters think everyone do like they do.steal! Most everything you buy there is made in a thirdworld country. The people working at computer departments dont know much about their products.
