Can i set my PC with Windows XP to kickoff line when the phone rings? I dont have call waiting. But I had set up a WEBTV that you could set it to kick off the modem when the phone ring to answer a call. Then you had to ring back to get online. If you know there is a control box in XP to do this ,Tell me where and how..Gotta go.Waiting on the boss to call me to the other job up the highway. He may try this number I am on next door.

It is in the rpogram that you use to get online...Should be under some heading such as 'Preferences' or 'Connection Protocols' or whatever...

All dialup programs are different unless you are using the one that comes with Windows...

If you are using the one that comes with windows, it should be in your 'Control Panel' under 'Internet Options'...You may have to run the Setup Wizard to be able to change it...If I remember rightly it is called 'Disconnect On Incoming Ring'...I think...

How about instead you install a program like Callwave. It's an internet answering machine... when a call comes in, a window pops up. It gives you the option of answering the call, or sending it to voicemail.

You can get Callwave atthe following link, but there are many others available as well.

Here is another called "Buzz Me". It says it is free, however that may just be a limited time free trial service. I know Call Wave is free only for a trial period.
