spent the day w/some family doing good quality family stuff...

loading a 30 yd. dumpsters.

Yep. Cleaning out my in-laws converted dutch barn....

sooo much stuff.

W/the dumpster, add 25 p/u loads, mostly to the dump.

We're going to get another 30 yd. dumpster...Hopefully, that should do it.

May rent a skid-steer to clean up the "burn-pile" which is required before selling out here.

I have a p/u truck 5'high of mattresses ready to go tomorrow am.

Except for the mattresses, I hope you know you're throwing away good stuff. Man, don't give the dump you're treasures. LOL........gfp

...interesting you should ask...

we probably are tossing "good stuff."

MY FIL bought an estates sale in the late 40's, and there are several old steamer trunks that I've poked around in. I've manaaged to put together a rough history of this guy and just sent off a letter to a couple w/the same surname back in Cinncinati to see if they're related and if they want the stuff...otherwise it goes to the dump......I found a museum in Cinninati that would be interested in it.

We've thought garage sale, antique store, and have ended up deciding to donate most of what looks to be valuable to a thrift store in town that supports a crisis pregnancy clinic.

Thrift stores around here are pretty darn picky...lots of old stuff around.

I have to say, we're exhausted and that has encouaged us to toss stuff. Reminds me of a story a friend of mine told me..he went to do the same thing up in Idaho...they were selling cherry end tables for $5 and tossing old milk cans away. They did this in all weekend.

Unless you've been there, it's hard to understand.

YOu get to the point where you decide:
1) You are NOT going to do this to your kids, and
2) It's just STUFF. You didn't know it existed before you showed up, and it ain't gonna kill you to not see it again.

having said all that, I have to say it's mostly just trash...old papers and magazines and useless broken junk...'course, I've been in some "fancy" homes out here, and they have that stuff on their a bike...a sled...and soon to be Buffalo head.
