Just wanted to say thanks for all the responses and advice I got from my IBS post last night. I looked up the IBS diet, going to try that. I am also going to get some Citrucel, see if that helps. I only get a flare up about once a week, if that. I went for over a month without any symptoms this last time. Thanks again. :)

hey kelly, if you susbect that you may have any type of IBS you should really go see your doc, they do other test before they use the scope, this type of illness can be a killer and if treated early is much better to control than if you wait until you have major problems.email me if you want.

A couple of suggestions. My doc recommended a couple of citrucel in the morning and the same at night. Didn't work well for me. I found that if I take them with my meals, my body thinks I'm eating a high fiber diet and settles down better. And, just a couple of citrucel don't work. I'm thinking about buying stock in the company. Sheesh! So far, the least expensive retail source I've found is Costco.

And, smaller more frequent meals work better for me. I used to think some of my favorite foods were causing the problem, but now realize I was just eating larger meals when I had my favorite foods in front of me.

gotta watch the sugars and i don,t buy into the fiber thing.eveything in moderation is ok when your not having flares, you learn what tirggers them though and tend to avoid some things.all a learning experience and a tough way to live sometimes, but certainly better than the alternative haha.
