how's the spring weather shaping up in your area? i am in se texas and although we have had some light rains we had only about 4" so far this year. should be at least double that by now. looks like it is shaping up to be a dry spring here. we have sub moisture, but whatever top moisture we do get dries out quickly and leaves us with powder dry top. the biggest rain so far this year was 1" on january 5th. just getting little "hit or miss" showers and not much of that.

Got about four inches of snow yesterday, does that count? Tryed putting in fence post the day before, went about three inches before I hit frost. Decided to find me another project.

Dryest winter here in recent history. In fact our local paper's front page (link below) today is about the drought.

I dug a couple of fence posts in the other day--got down 3 feet and it was still dry like talcum powder. My raingage broke on me, but I think we're less than 2 inches on the year so far, and we should be averaging about 3-4 inches a month right now.

I guess the good news is that, at least for awhile, apparently 'they' are suspending building permits in the area so maybe we won't get over-run by new houses for another year. Or until the next rain.

Hope things are better out your way.

4 inches is about all we get in a year!! I just went out and graded the drive way between posts. That was FUN!! Got better with the blade during the winter so I did not have to go back so many times. It is warm today and it kind of gets you going to do something out side. That 5/8" minus gravel is sure nice looking after you blue top it! Mark H.
