Baby chicken birth!

Thanks for all the help and advice. One chick has hatched and made it. Two did not. I still have 5 eggs under the chicken and hope for more. But not wanting the little one to be lonely....I went to the feed store and got a few more. It was pretty amazing to watch the little one unfold from his shell.

LOL...what a softy! :) Thats a good thing.

Keep in mind the chicks you bought at feed store are several weeks older than the hatchling...you may have a problem with the bigger chicks pecking hell outta the smaller ones. Just a guess..I raise cattle and dont even eat yard birds :)

I was worried about the difference in size but it all seems to be working out. Some were a day older and some were 4 days older. They are certainly bigger than the little one. However they all seem to be getting along quite well.
