I would have worked a half a day but a friend needed his trailer wired and wheelbearings installed ,,,Being such a nice guy kept me working untill 6 PM.Complicated by the fact that whoever built the trailer my friend bought had cut the surface off where the wheel seals go and welded there.

Somebody up north pulled the plug and dumped the cold weather down here, it was 39 down here this morning. Calling for 50's tomorrow.

He will find a set of spindles with hubs next week. The young guy is a very good welder so he can just remove the old spindles and add new ones..the guy who built the trailer had cut the spindles too short. Hpow have you ben liuke\ing the weather? It was very hot untill this evening late then somebody up there pulled the plug.It rained good here at dark.

Some farm machinery, which I can't think of right off hand, has used compression like type greased felt seals spring preasured to backsides of hubs. Don't know your whole sititation but thought this may be food for thought?

Yes,I remember those type of seals too Fern,,But I dont either remember which machines used them.the boy will just weld new spindles on the tube because the previous welder even messed up the inner bearing fit.the guy was not such a bad welder but knew nothing of the mechanism in the axles.
