Does anyone know a cheap and easy way yo get rid of opossums?? My uncle sent me on the computer to check it out and I haven't been able to find anything yet. He has a big opossum problem in his backyard. Does anyone have any advice??

This doesn't sound real nice, but anti-freeze works real well. They love the flavor, its just like cool-aid to them but don't let your dog or cat drink it since they will like it just as well. I guarantee you that it will get rid of your opossum, but make sure they don't die where you don't want them to, they may stink the rest of the summer!

We found out they usually show up right after dark at their feeding spot (the chicken house, in our case... they love to kill chickens and eat only the head). Once we learned that, we'd go outside together... me with the flashlight and Cliff with the rifle. Do not talk, they'll leave if they hear voices. However, the flashlight doesn't seem to bother them at all. They'll look up at you and grin, with the chicken-blood running down their chins, and keep on eating. When we ended our war, the score was 11 possums killed versus 10 chickens killed.

We had one sitting on our fence looking to go after a bird nest. Hubby threw water on it and it just hissed at us! Evil little creatures!

.22 caliber rifle works real good as long as he doesnt live in town. Also make sure there isnt a food source they are being drawn too. The love dog food and just about anything else edible
