Nephew Elie is still boogeying right along. He's experiencing some "equipment failures", such as boots falling apart and water filter malfunctioning. (Sort of like Janet Jackson had at the Super Bowl, I suppose.)
He'll be in Waynesboro, VA soon and his gf is going to fly down to meet him there.

Does he get a motel room at night?Eat at the cafe or fastfood joints? Or is he livin off the fat of the land?

No. No. Not really. He carries most of his food with him. Only gets a hot meal, other than what he cooks on his little stove, when he passes through a town. Sleeps in his tent on the trail, maybe a shelter if he's lucky.

Oh,,That is more like it..They have cowboys who ride horses down the highway to places ,They call it trails instead of highways .They have everything along that the real cowboys never had.Trucks and trailers. But they intend on having fun I guess.

This trail is not for sissies. I think grueling might be a good word to describe it. Some people take years to do it. The way he's going, he'll easily finish by early fall if he continues at this pace.

Well Les,It sems more intersting now.I wish the boy the best of luck.I hope he reaches his destination. When I was younger I could duckwaddle all the way to California but I dont take long hikes here recently.
