I am located about 10-15 miles south of Burlington, Vermont...Sure didn't want to confuse anyone...

don't mind me....I can't even be sure why I thought that.

take care! been raining here all day, so far no
bad storms this time here in tornado alley.

Salmoneye    Posted 06-09-2004 at 14:11:08       [Reply]  [No Email]
That is my point really...

We are 'supposed' to be well out of the 'alley' up here...But as we all know the alley is expanding...3rd one in 2 weeks confirmed in the same area of The Northcountry...Usually it is more like 5 per decade within 200 miles of me...Even though I did see 12 one day on Lake Champlain, but I did not have a camera and the only other witnesses saw '1' of them...But they were a Ferry crew, so I was 'believed' LOL...

Thanks for the good wishes...Hope all goes well for you too...

Had a squall pass through here a couple hours ago. You mean there's more coming?

Ayuh...    Posted 06-09-2004 at 13:52:00       [Reply]  [No Email]
Look at the link...By the time they get to you, they should pass south...I think...

Ain't got time to open it. Gonna try to get some mowin done. Whatever comes comes. Looks pretty nice here right now. The air is a little cooler and there's a nice breeze. Weather on TV. Guess I'll go watch.

Good Luck : )

Thanks...    Posted 06-09-2004 at 13:54:34       [Reply]  [No Email]
Not worried...Much ;-)

I have seen some intense weather phenomenon including funnel clouds...I have yet to see one stay on the ground here longer than a couple minutes...The terrain is just not conducive to storms getting to the point where they sustain a vortex...Too hilly...

Worst I have seen is water lifted off the lake...They tend to break as they approach land again...

Our county is located in the foothills of the
Blue Ridge Mountains,V E R Y hilly and we've all
had the same 'mindset, until-- about 20 yrs ago
weather service counted 9 in one night. almost
demolished our little county. people still take
thoes warnings VERY seriously. hope you have a
S A F E night. Mother nature is hard to predict:

The worst we have where I am is the Lightning. A few years ago there was a hurricane that was supposed to be moving directly across the middle of the state. My parents freaked out and made everyone go to my older Sisters place since she lived in a block house and we lived in a mobile home. I was aggravated because where I am it mostly blows right over the top of us. When I got home the next day it hadn't even blown my garbage cans over. Oh well, better safe than sorry I reckon. It coulda been bad like Hurricane Andrew. I don't think I'd wanna live anywhere near where there are tornadoes though. That's waaay scary to me. Maybe since I'm used to the hurricanes season it doesn't bother me as bad : )

folks in florida were good to me when i lived
down there, they provided me with lots of lightning and 3 or 4 tropical storms, but no hurricane. made feel right at home.

DD    Posted 06-09-2004 at 14:51:59       [Reply]  [No Email]
Well of course! : ) I hope they fed ya good when you were down this way too ; ) Where did you live when you were here? I've lived in Orlando for 36 years. Still just a mile away from my parents. I don't know where everything is here but if you know the county I have an atlas : )

Yeah yeah I hear ya ; ) I always do. Yep, that woulda been fun. I reckon since I've lived here all my life I'm just not impressed with that place anymore. It's become a rip off to me cuz it's too big to see in one day and unless ya got major coin to toss away and about a week yer gonna miss alot. Luckily I have friends who can sign Dillon and I in anytime we wanna go. Unless it's during a few blackout dates. We like Sea World better. It's educational and still small enough that if you get there early and map it out right you can see it all in one day : ) I live just down the road from Universal. That's mostly a buncha roller coasters now though same as with Busch Gardens down in Tampa. Ah heck, the lil peeps like it though so that's what matters I reckon. I like going down to Old Town in Kissimmee on Saturday nites for the Cruise. Lotta nice old sleds down there and it's FREE : ) They have a band that plays til about 10 and several rides like the Tilt-a-Whirl, Merry Go Round, Ferris Wheel and a roller coaster (lotsa other stuff too) the kids can enjoy all they want for about $15 for one of them lil bracelets : )

Some day if you are bored I will tell you about it, but she is still not over it...

DD    Posted 06-09-2004 at 14:48:18       [Reply]  [No Email]
I'd like to hear about it someday if you have the time : ) But not if it's gonna upset anyone. I have a Very Healthy Respect for Lightning ; )

Tinker    Posted 06-09-2004 at 16:04:37       [Reply]  [No Email]
I also have a healthy respect for lightening. *shows scars on hands and feet* I'm getting better over the years... and it helped to buy a new bed I cant fit under. LOL

DD    Posted 06-09-2004 at 16:06:31       [Reply]  [No Email]
