Does anyone know anything about using ivermec (for cattle) on horses for worming. I heard that Olds College used it and were successful in getting rid of worms. The fellow who told me about it used the cow kind - that they inject - putting it into a syringe and give to them in the mouth.
Anyone know about this, is it safe?

i have seen people use it on horses, but i wouldn,t , equvaln and other wormers have the right amount of ivermec in it along with whatever else you might need for other kinds of worms the horse may have, it,s cheap under 20 bucks,i go with horse wormer for horses.they use that stuff on cows because they usually have lots to do and it,s cheaper.

sure like i said lots do , guess it,s what you feel comfortable with, for me the paste works well, we had a friend who had a couple dozen horses , only way she could afford to worm them was to use the ivermec.

Oral versus injection, I seem to remember an Ivermec salesman saying He would not under any circumstance inject it in a Horse. The question of Oral aplication was never mentioned.
