I have a 24x26 garage, built in '90,it was a package so my 10yr. shingles are now 14 yrs old and starting to curl.Ordered tin May 31 just before the June 1st price increase, (and June 4th increase and the July 1st increase I was promised.)Bought at 2.79/ft., today 3.25 so its almost like money in the bank.I agree it would seem to be better with the screws on the ridge but it kind of makes sense that screws on the flat would tend to snug the tin down better.Dan in AB

nice size garage dan, bet it,s nice on the cold alberta winter days huh,i hear the cost of steel has gone way up , that and the cost of osb has put a hold on projects here , if we really don,t need it im not going to build it now, i use to put the screws on the ridges ,it,s easier to put them in the valleys and the last couple of time i put tin on i put them in the valleys and so far no problems, good luck.
