Interesting news story from local Sacramento AM station (KFBK). A few days ago, they interviewed a WWII vet who had some of his war sketches ending up in the Smithsonian. He wished he could go back there and see it (we're in Kalifornia).

Well, shortly thereafter, Alex Spanos, owner of the San Diego Chargers called up the station and spoke to the man and said, "Hey, I got a plane. I'll fly you. I can fit 10." So, the guy went back!

Then as a follow up to that today, the station decided to charter a plane to take back a bunch of other WWII vets to see the WWII memorial, and they had a drive-by fund raiser. As of 7pm-ish, they had $210k. They said Alex Spanos had kicked in $93k, and Rush Limbaugh kicked in $50k...Rush was launched to syndication from this Sacramento radio station.

Neat story...but I looked on the KFBK's website, but nothing was there yet. It's in case anyone wants to check it later on.
