Seems like its been about that long since we've had any rain here.
Was gonna plant some more taters and peas today, still got about 60 acres of fertilizer to get down, rainin.Walked out today and heard a strange sound, thought my feet was broke, realized the ground was squishy, been so long since I'd heard that sound bout forgot what it was.
Will get the fertilizer sometime, garden can wait.

We've been having a mixture of rain and snow
for a day and a half now. I noticed on my way
to work that I can't see quite so many rocks in
the ponds. Maybe we'll make it yet.

I bought a climbing peace rose a couple of days ago, brought it home and watered it and it's sprouting very nicely - in a bucket in the kitchen cuz when I woke up on St. Patricks Day, there were 2"+ snow on the ground and still coming!! lol It melted off later in the afternoon but has been snowing off and on every since so I think that rose will just have to wait a bit longer.

Sammie a few years ago it snowed 17 inchs St Pats day morning.Perhaps a numerical coincidence.
Broke a lot of trees down and a few power lines.
Theres an old sayin here that "Spring ain't come till after tha Easter snow".

Sounds good on a tin roof, don't it? Guess all them moonshine dances up there in Monroe did the trick.

Come on Hog, it ain't that bad - PCC-AL    Posted 03-18-2002 at 14:55:41       [Reply]  [No Email]
Things will probably get worse. I had my garden and corn patch broken for a couple of weeks so this weekend, I decided to disc. I was taking off the disk plow to hook up the harrow and slightly turned wrong while bending over. My back snapped loud enough to hear it. I went ahead and finished, but I'm paying for it now. Probably will be laid up for a couple of weeks. Congrats on the rain.
