KellyGa, you could put a small nail hole in each end of the egg, break up inside with nail and blow the egg, then wash and you could have it forever

Yup that's a beauty, i'd save it too - once it's empty if you want to make it stronger, roll around a coating of wood glue INSIDE the egg, then drain the excess, set it out & let the glue dry a coupla days. (old painted turkey egg art trick:)

The one on the left is our first egg ever, and the one on the right is a "large" store bought. NOt bad for a first egg, eh??? :)
