Today I truly joined the ranks of gum sucking old codgers. I'm sitting here with more gause in my mouth than a crash cart at a hospital. Reason being, I had em all yanked. Well, not all, I still have a few on the bottom.

The novacaine hasn't worn off yet but I'm sure it's gonna hurt like hades when it does. Nancy is at the drug store getting the prescription for percocet filled.

So, please say a little prayer for the east coast sufferer this day. Thank God it was the last five. It'll be a couple of months before I get the new ones. In the mean time, I'm looking into hiring out to scare bad boys and girls into brushing their teeth.

Hope all of you have a better day than mine........gfp

my brother once had beautiful straight teeth but because he was/is lazy and sloppy he now has none. the best thing i ever did for my teeth was/is to see the dentist twice a year and floss at least once a day.

Wow, when you said you were going to the dentist, you weren't kidding! Ouch, double ouch! I dread any kind of doctors visit. I sure do hop eyou get better soon. I have had percocet before. Oh boy, you won;t care if someone cuts off your arm! They don't give you many though, unfortunately. Its real addictive I think. take care. Looking forward to some Old Tom. :)

Make sure you follow all the Dr's directions. Hope you are feeling well again soon.

Yeah but    Posted 06-22-2004 at 10:54:05       [Reply]  [No Email]
Stormie, have you seen the list of instructions they give out for an extraction. It covers two whole side of a standard sheet. The one thing that bothers me most was, "Don't Spit". yuuuck, who can have teeth pulled without spitting?........gfp

Ouch, I feel for you. Hubby did that too a few years back & is still struggling with dentures not fitting right despite relinings.

Not just good brushing with floride based toothpaste, but also religiously flossing twice daily prevents cavities & gum disease. Older & wiser helps :~) Dental problems can also result from years of drinking spring water which is basically void of floride. Dee

You're right on all counts but I hung on to them as long as I could. I have had more dentures, (partials) made than anyman alive. So, I know how discomforting they can be. But, my good wife threatened to leave if I didn't go through with it........gfp

Depending on the level of pain, I might use this down time to write a little more on the "Old Tom" saga. But, it's strickly in accordance with how miserable I feel. .......gfp

I'm sure I'll get throught this alright. I must say one thing for the dentist. He really knew his stuff. He told me when he was finished and all the while I still thought he had at least 2 to go.

What's going to bother me most is learning the "S" sound all over again......gfp
