So much rain here my cows now have web feet.

Clod, Vic, Lenore and any of you other Liberty County folks...be careful today, lots of water on those roads!

Been meaning to ask you--do you use stripper heads on your rice combines? I've been told the rice farmers are getting away from them and going to draper platforms. Is that true or am I way offbase?

My old combines have the old original rigid rice cutter bar and tined pick up reel headers but Ive seen the draper heads on JD CTS Rice Special Combines and Case Axial Flows and the new batten board plastic reels. I think they retro-fitted these. I do wonder how they will ever "pick up" rice with those if it ever blows down. I do know they can change speeds on those heads which i bet is nice.

I was wondering about that-reason I asked is a guy here just bought a new Agco stripper head and put it on a JD 9500 combine to combine wheat. I was wondering how much advantage it would have over the conventional platforms.
