I have a friend whose father recently passed away. He wore a suit and tie everyday and she has many of his ties. I would love to make them into a quilt for her but I have been unable to find directions or a pattern that I could use. Can anyone please help? I found a picture of one on this site but I don't know how to contact the lady that posted it in 2002. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would recomand that you get a book called Daddy's Ties or a pattern for foldy stuff and it comes in different quilt patterns and is worked on a foundation an has a tuck at each edge and works well with the bias of the ties.
Thanks Isabelle.

Sue, I think I can help you...but not right just this minute! I'm on my way out to help my mom at the quilt show! I'll get some info and write back later...The tie quilts can be very beautiful...especially when sewn as "star bursts"

Contact Dave (I think) on here too...His wife has some BEAUTIFUL quilts!
