I once wondered why the Aussies don't kick the football but instead punch it from behind. Then i kicked one of their footballs - YOW, darn near broke my foot!
Well that kinda sums up my life - a series of thoughts and ideas, some i try, most don't work, and in the process i learn.
The paddleboat doesn't work. Oh it churns water alright like a huge blender but can't buck a headwind. So i'm thinking - well, some parts work. Actually most parts work. The drive system, clutch, steering and splash-shields work. But the baler-belting paddle needs to be solid. At least that will help. So everybody sez use wood but it's not that kind of boat. But l-angle costs money and weights and ----- so i decided to try a plastic drum. Used both ends of a black one and bent flanges on 6 plastic paddles and bolted it over what i had. It fit the axle & hole alright but it's just a skoshe bigger diameter so now i need a different fender altogether. If it ain't one thing it's two. BTW that thing WILL run. And i'll fish with it. And i've been taking pictures. Or my name ain't whatsizname. :)

Deadcarp, I always enjoy people who are inventing or trying to reinvent. Sometimes I have no idea what you are talking about(I need visuals) but it is nice to see someone enjoying themselves so much. Hope your paddleboat comes around soon! Have fun.

Man that dude is something aint he????

He shows up at any and everything. The one thing I had in common with our gestapo sheriff here was that when Quanel showed up to protest the sheriff dept our gestapo armed the deputies and aux deputies with enough fire power ro keep them quite.

Them militants were'nt nearly so brave around here as they were in downtown Houston pushing around 75 year old ww2 veterans.

Harris County and Houston PD just stood there and watched him knock down one old timer. They even had it on channel 2 news footage. The judge threw it out because the oldtimers were threatening him and the armed hoodlums.

None of the oldtimers were threatening anybody and were unarmed. That's one reason it's never clear down range from my house. Burr don't play dat mess.

You musrta seen him refusing to stop for the cop car.
