Yesterday, Ian (my husband) says the chickens were being loud. I went out, and discovered them all in a corner of the back yard. The Sussex were in the very corner, and the buffs were outside of them. LOL! It was like they were having a cackling session! One of the buffs was making this bokbokbok BOKOK!! noise, and it made the others go bok bok bok bok in this mechanical sounding way. It was hilarious!!! I don't know what they were talking about, but it was funny as all get out. I have never heard them make the REAL chicken noise. Hope they don't give us away. I didn't kow they could be so loud!!!

LOL too cute. Hey Kelly just out of curiosity where did you get yer chickens from when you first started out? And what type of pen do you have for them?

I got them from the local feed store. Mr. Swint has been around for years and years. He didn't normally have the speckled sussex, but he ordered them special just for me. :) I posted some pics long ago of my house and run I built all my own with my own two hands. Let me go and get it for you!

I fyou would like to catch up on all the pictures I have posted from way back ( I have been here for two years ) just go to the photo gallery and in the search put in KellyGa and it will bring up all my pics and just hit next page for more. :) Enjoy!

I will do that tonight! Tractor Supply had some chicks a few months back... they had ducks.. and then they had some rhode island reds. I wanted to get some then but I had no run for them and no clue on how to build one or how much it cost to build one. I'd like to get one up soon but not sure where I would get the chicks now or if "chick season" is over.(lol no idea if there is one) Is there alot involved in taking care of them? I plan on reading up before I make the decision to get some but I'm 95% sure I wanna raise some of my own chickens :)
