Hi Y'all,

Anyone seen the big new Michael Moore movie,
"Farenheit 911"?

Lotsa friends have seen it but not me yet.
I don't know if I will.
It sounds to durn "Political" for me.
I try to stay out of politics & only goes with the most consevatives most of the time.

But now one of my friends sends me these websites.
That put old Michael Moore on the spot.

One is:

The other one is:

Now, I'm not questioning his politics, I don't care who he votes for.
You can leave the politics out of it.
But, I do have a question about his "veracity", truthfulnes or whatever you call it...

Shoot, if he's gonna present the "Facts",
Hey!, they oughts BE the FACTS!
What do you think?

Is it all REAL?
Or, does he just say that stuff,
to make MOVIES & make MONEY?

'Til Later...........
Old John

the other nite NBC news did a "quickie" revue of the movie. the segment pointed out some truths and some "BS" and where MM stretched the facts. i myself will wait for a CD version, if that happens.

Mebbe if it comes to the drive in next year, and there's something good playing on the other 2 screens. That way if I don't like it, I can turn around re-tune the dial and watch something else.

I want tosee it, but....    Posted 06-29-2004 at 08:55:56       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I'm too cheap to pay $8.00 for the movies! The first Moore film I saw was "Roger and Me" about the impact on Flint Michigan (I think it was Flint) of the closing and moving of some automobile manufacturing plant. I think the plant moved overseas or something. I haven't seen bowling for columbine.

From everything I've read about Farenheit 911 he's used the facts. Nothing I've read about so far is made up. He's not the first to point out this relationship either - "House of Bush House of Saud" has been out a while.

If you see it first, give us the rundown.

Ian wants to go see it. I don't really care to spend the money to go see it. If I go to a movie, I want to see a movie, not a documentary. Probably wait until it comes out on video and rent it for him. Ian doesn't necessarily like Micheal Moore and his ramblings, he just likes to watch what he has to say, finds some of it interesting.

Same here. Can't really gut Mr. Moore myself. Curious about the movie. Not really willing to pay for a movie ticket.

I haven't seen it, from all I hear it is mostly fact and if taken at face value Bush and Co. presents a clear and imminent threat to this country of ours.Although I am probably the most liberal of all who frequent this board I refuse to take it at face value. Moore is a master spin doctor as is Rush and like all of their ilk Democrat or Republican, Right wing or Left can take a sackful of fact and turn it any way they want. In the Flint michigan story managment came out looking like a bunch of feudal lords with no thought of the serfs working under them. And that is true. Unfortunatly for us working stiffs mangments job is not to employ us or not even to look out for the long term interests of our nation. They exist solely to make sure that the stockholders see a profit every quarter no matter the social costs involved. The 9/11 movie was written and designed to potray the Shrub in the absolute worst possible light just as Rush's rantings are designed to do the same for the Dems. The thing to remember is that both Moore and Rush are both millionaires who got that way by pandering to the fears and desires of their respective audiences and should in no way be considered anything but entertainers.

Despite being a big fan of Rush's for the past 10 years, even I know that not everything he says is factual. You definately have to read between the lines. The big difference between Rush and Moore is that Moore is very much anti-american. Rush spins the truth while Moore out and out lies. And yes, there is a difference. I would encourage you to go see Moore's movie. Anyone who actually follows politics will quickly be able to see Moore's motives here and the numerous lies that he is weaving.

Sick, Sick world.

ROFLMAO Yeah that's the good thing about being a Rushie. With Rush you only get a little itty bitty spin.. He's fried his brain on dope and he won't lie??? guess that falls in the *according to what the meaning of is is* catagory...........oh boy I've heard it all now.........beam me up Scottie no intelligent life forms here.

Can you imagine how sick we'll be of anybody that's hunting a vote by November?

Ultra right ultra left, they all put their spin on things. The
trick is to find the grain in the chaff.
