Hello Friends,
First off let me thank each of you for the advice and encouragement in response to our earlier post about the well problem. Not having water gets your attention...
It wasn't the pump, it wasn't a burst bladder in the pressure tank. It was broken contact points in the pressure switch. Replaced it with a new 40 - 60 psi switch and we are back to washing clothes, taking hot showers, and cooking without using the neighbors water.
Folks came by the farm toting water.
Some poked fun at how filthy our truck had gotten.
Others wanted to jump right into the fray and start cutting out copper pipe. When I could finally get after it, the first thing I did was take the gray plastic cover off of the pressure switch. I was going to disconnect the switch before I removed the tank/pump manifold. Just as I did that 2 pieces of plastic fell out.
On those pieces were two small shiney contact points.
Now, I got friends coming back over asking for their water back! hehe

I'm thankful.

Hope all is well with you-

Nice to have it on tap isn't it Mike. Repl'd to you earlier and so did Mark H, he mentioned something about a precharge on the air side of the tank. Did you get that setup okay?
Later Bob

Hello up there Bob,
Yep, got the tank right. It has 38 p.s.i.
and is matched to the 40-60 switch. Sure was nice to get some advice on the troubleshooting end of it. You guys were a big help to me. Got plenty of water and a passle of good neighbors... much obliged. Mike

Good neighbours are a blessing Mike, a lot of people don't know that though.
By now.Bob

Uh, what's that saying? You don't miss your water until the well runs dry.    Posted 03-26-2002 at 08:07:40       [Reply]  [No Email]
