Latest from the nephew on the Appalachian Trail is that he's somewheres in the middle of Pennsyldelphiaburg. His girlfriend went down for another visit and to walk with him for a couple days. While I'm sure he was glad to see her, he told her when she left that she was slowing him down too much and not to plan on another visit until he makes it to NH. ":^O He hopes to be on this section of the trail by the end of July.

A couple of months ago I read the book "Death on the Appalachian Trail". While the murders and investigations were heart-rending, the descriptions of the scenery and the spiritual benefits gained thereby were wondrous. Luckily the bad part is not a normal occurrance. It spite of all, it made me want to hike the trail too.

I am envious. He is making the trek I always wanted to make, but waited to long to attempt it. Do good to walk 2 blocks now. I am pulling for him, in the name of all of us who can't do what he is accomplishing!
