I currently get maybe 150 pices of junk emali every day. I generally don't know what it pertains to, since it gets dumped right away. Most of it seems to be enlargement or cheap pill ads. Isn't there some easy way to stop that? :)

This takes some time but it works too. My daughter signed up for the "inspirational quote of the day". The next day about 50 pieces of junk showed up. I took the time and went into each one and UNsuscribed...It actually worked.

Your internet provider may also have a free junk mail blocker. GOOD LUCK!!!!

You know that might do some good. :) Me being a persistent critter when my dander's up, some junk email recently served me a purpose: I had somehow inherited a persistent new homepage, so outa desparation i found a contact address on it, and forwarded ALL my junk mail (about 150 pieces/day)(each included a note) to the buggers. After about 3 days, they kindly provided me with an "uninstall" program that worked. Now if they would take all this enlargement crap outa my box, i'd call it even. :)

I would recommend downloading the mailwasher program. They have a free version, which I tried, then went to their paid version as I liked the program. The beauty of this program is that it can send a message back to the spammer making their computer believe your email addy is not valid or is a dead end addy. The program allows you to see and easily filter your email at the server level. You eliminate the spam before you download your email to your computer. It's really easy to use.

I've used mailwasher for several years and it has nearly eliminated spam. I used to get 60-100 spam emails every day, but get just a few a week now. And, those are filtered with mailwasher.

never give your email address to anyone. The fact that you post it here is probably where half of the spammers got your email. many virus will send it out too. Other people who have you in their address book are also sources for a virus to grab it. treat your email address like your social security number, not like a business card.

this is meant to be helpfull not a scolding.

No Toolman, just recuperating from driving that herd of loose cattle down the Crow to the Okanagan. If I had been coming back, could have run them into your yard.
