I KNEW A MAN........

Who would give great rides upon strong broad shoulders
Who devoted many after-work late night hours to restoring second hand toys to new for his kids
Who always seemed to eat the least because hungry kids needed nourishment
Who never owned a new well-fitted suit until the youngest child had left the nest
Who never raised hand or voice in anger to wife or children
Who never missed a day of work in 40 years despite illness
Who instilled in me the core values which have and will endure the test of time

Thanks for being there for me Dad
My first eighteen years were the best
And if by chance we meet again
I hope you are glad that my sons are being raised
Just as you raised me
You will always be loved, and never forgotten.
Rest easy Dad,you have earned it.

Respectfully Dedicated to my loving Father
who passed from this world at 10:00 AM on 8 July 2004

Your son.....Clipper :^(

Sounds like the type of man who leaves his mark on generations to come. Save all you can to pass on. Write down your memories for your children and grandchildren. His life will continue to shape the lives of those who never knew him. That is the mark of a well lived life!

Hi there Clipper, I am glad to see you here. Thanks for the note about your Dad. It sounds like he was a good man and Father.Don't run off again either, I need a haircut. How much do you charge for a virtual haircut?

Truely sorry to hear of your loss. My father passed away 3-1/2 years ago. One of the last things he told me was to be thankfull I had a father that I'd miss. Some people don't have that luxurey in life. Sounds like your father was that kind of man. Go ahead and miss him. Miss him forever. That's the greatest tribute you can give him. GOD Bless. John

Clipper, please know that I am truly sorry for your loss. It is a time to remember his good works as precious memories rush into your mind. Then, think of how lucky you were just to have a loving father. And, think of how deserving he is of a better life in the hereafter. Remember, for the Godly it's only a new beginning. .....gfp

That is a real man, someone I look up to, no doubt. You have our family blessing in this time of loss. However, the memories & his unselfish gifts are yours for the rest of your life.

I am so sorry Clipper for your loss.
You will always have the wonderful memories of your loving father.
All your memories will be held dear to your heart forever.
The immediate sadness will ease some, losing a parent who lived a good long life is hard.
It is a part of life and we do adjust to it and remember all the good things they brought to our lives.
God bless you and your family.

Sorry about your loss pardner. My dad's been gone 40 years and i still remember his voice and how his hands smelled when he'd give me a haircut. Folks last longer than they last. :)

Some say Heaven is in the way those left behind think of you.
I'd say your Dad is in Heaven.
