Shallow Wells?

For a new shallow well, one digger suggest a 32" hole with a 16" liner. The other a 30" with a 25" liner. We anticipate a 40-60' well. Before I talk to them again, can anyone educate me on the subject?

Hmm...    Posted 07-11-2004 at 10:52:22       [Reply]  [No Email]
What we call a 'shallow well' here is around 3-4 foot diameter with 'tiles' or corrugated steel pipe 12-30 foot or so deep...

I guess I am confused when you say the hole is one diameter but the 'liner' is smaller than the hole...Is this for potable water or irrigation?...

probably larger hole w/ smaller liner is so it can be filled w/ "grout" material so ground water does not leach into the well water??? how's big Jimmy doing? he working at any sandwich shop I should be visiting??

My fault...

I did tell him about it, but we both seem to have left it at that and forgotten to discuss it any further...

Here is a 'throw-away' address that I have and if you send me your addy, no one will ever know...
