Actually Duane (See post titled Echo Boxes down the page} wasn't among our ranks all that long.
He had a way of wearing his welcome pretty thin.
Like the time he pulled the wrong button when he parked his truck on the hill in front of his house--instead of the tractor parking brake he pulled the button for the traile air. Unfortunatly the traile rdidn't have spring brakes abd it bled off before the tractor bled off which would have automatically set the brakes. Which alowed the truck to roll backward down the hill and jackknife in somebodies front lawn, taking out a Ford escort in the process.
Or the time he decided to try theft as a sideline job. His first effort at theft was when he sold all the chains and binders off the trailer. If he had told th eboss they were all stolen at a truckstop he might have gotten away with it, but he tried to get creative and tell the boss that he got caught in a big windstorm and they all blew off when he was driving down the road. (Well, there was a windstorm, but it was from all that hot air he was blowing at the boss}
These are just a couple of the tings I can tink of right now, but the straw that broke the camels back was when he got caught charging prostitutes on the company credit card.
Just like the chain and binder incident, had he been just a little bit smarter he might have gotten away with it. What got him was when he had two in one night, using the same motel as a front. Apparently he figured the people at the main office might wonder why he needed two rooms in the same night he so for the second one he signed the only other name authorized for the card.

Which just happened to be the boss.
Who's wife worked in the main office.
Who just happened to be doing the reciepts when the credit card statement came it.
Who happened to distinctly remember that the boss was with her on the night in question.
Who strongly recommended that Duane be relieved of his duties!
They really didn't have much trouble finding a suitable replacement for him!
Poor old Duane.
The last I heard he was working at Walmart stocking shelves waiting til he got old enough to accept a position as greeter.
But sad to say, he probably managet to find a way to screw that up too!
