Yogurt or milk?

Which is better? When yogurt is added to regular milk and warmed, it turns the whole mess into yogurt. Nothing else is added or boiled away, it's just that now you have sour-tasting milk with bugs in it. Or i guess more correctly, bugs have already digested it. Is it just a sick fad? Why would anybody sane go to any extra trouble to eat that?

Believe it or not, I get sick eating ice cream. I have a reaction to the anti-freeze compounds in it.

Now home made ice cream or ice milk does not effect me at all.

Others in my house eat yogurt. I wont touch it. Me thinks its spoiled.

Do you eat cheese?    Posted 07-18-2004 at 18:03:35       [Reply]  [No Email]
Cheese is just another bacteria (actually many - which give each cheese their different flavors) that is allow to "feed" on milk which we then eat. It is not unlike feeding corn to cattle or pigs and then eating them except that in the case of cheese and yogurt the "animal" is just ONE cell. :-)

I find that the taste of plain yogurt is not unlike the taste of cottage cheese. They differ only in the culture (i.e. bacteria) that is used.

NOW, yogurt with fruit added is delicious!!
Gonna' have some NOW! :-)

In many cultures where yoghurt is a staple of the diet, people tend to be healthier and more longer lived in general.Don't recall the specifics but the bacteria and enzymes in yoghurt are sposed to be good for your system and generally harmless.

I hardly know what yogart is. What is wrong with milk.it sounds like it comes from France.. Their ice cream sucks too.

If you think french is bad,try here. The Japanese apparently don't"get" the concept of ice cream.

Well..I tend to be lactose intolerant as my kids are as well but just slightly..my arms have those lil bumps on them and I get belly aches from dairy..I don't eat much cheese at all but consider it like a "special". It's kind-of the way people thought of Ice creme as a treat..otherwise I get SO sick..sitting would NOT be an option and any walking is not thought of unless it is in a bent over old arthritic person manner! I have no prob eating yogurt of any kind and even use it with rice and lemon rather than tons of butter..great on rice pilaf too!! I tend to substitute yogurt for alot of things..including sour cream. I drink a certain soy milk because it tastes rich but it happens to be really good for me..so the bumps are less and no tummy upset..
