Hi just wanted to say thanks for the warm welcome and to tell you a lil about myself.
Am presently in Oregon, soon to be relocating in Idaho. Married 30 years, we live in the country, have 3 grown daughters 2 married. I have been raising chickens for the past 5 years and love em.
We have 2 dogs and one cat. I love reading cookbooks, baking, decorating cakes and cookies.
Am kinda shy but once I get to know someone, I will talk and talk and talk.
And is good to have found this website and board.

Hi Scheidgirl, Yes I know you, recognized you right away. :)

Yes sure am a chicken lover here, had for years collected chicken stuff, towels windchimes and many other things. About 5 years ago my husband asked what I wanted for my birthday, chickens I said we are in the country how bout some real chickens, he brought me to a feed store where I picked out this and that and oh yea that one too, was like a kid in a candy store looking and picking. Choose five to start with, brought em home and put them in a large box while husband went to work designing and building a chicken house and pen for em.. Did a mighty fine job if I do say so my self. Yea I love my chickens, and the eggs are pretty darn good too!

I grew up in the Detroit, MI area & moved to the country as soon as I could read a map.

I live in Northwest lower Michigan. Yep, it is like North & South. In fact, the North (called the U.P.) wanted to be another state. They stated too many tax dollars going south.

We enjoy gardening & raise animals.

As for myself, I work from home (internet business).

I'm glad to have you here! Greetings from Missouri. We have three cows and their calves, a horse that thinks he's a person, and are now praying for the right dog to come along. When I retire I'll have chickens, too.

OH GOOD! Another Chicken lover! I have 5 Buff Orpingtones and 5 speckled sussex, and they are all like pets to me. I raised them from day one, and they are very tame, I have even taken a few of them to Petsmart to shop with me for out pet supplies, lol. I would like to personally invite you to a great chicken message board. Everybody over there is just so nice. Its The Easy Chicken. Come on over and show us your chickens, tell us your stories, we love it! Of course, I am loyal to this message board alway. I found this site about three years ago now, and been talking on it for about 2 and a half.

I am a talker myself. Sometimes I really hit it off with someone here, I think, hmmm, maybe we ought to just call each other on the phone on the weekend when its free cell phone minutes and we can talk, and get a lot more said without wearing our fingers down to the nub! LOL!

Wel, anyway, we want to hear stories and see pictures, I know you will add character to the board. ;) We all do, tahts for sure!

We talk politics here during the elections. But this is the USA where everyone gets a vote. Like Aseop said..To each his own.>>>----The A$$ and The Gra$$hopper
Don't ignore your own needs.
An A$$ was enchanted by the melody a Grasshopper produced. The A$$ asked the Gra$$hopper what kind of food he ate thinking it gave him the beautiful song. "The dew," was the answer. The A$$ started eating nothing but dew and shortly afterward died of hunger.
