Hi, I'm getting in the rabbit business and was wondering if any of you had an affordable place you go to buy supplies, such as cages, wire, crocks, feeders, nest boxes, etc. Any online would be fantastic, especially if I could order a catalog.

I've been searching myself, but haven't found any that I consider GREAT prices on anything yet. Any help? I'm in SE TX

Hi Pam,
The inexpensive way is buy a book called raising rabbits the modern way, by gardenway publishing and then build your own cages(not real difficult), hang them with cable, and go with nipple watering system. Also the feed containers are available at any feed store. Pet stores are out of sight with prices.

When we lived in Texas we had to keep the rabbits out of ANY sunlight and I wouldn't breed them in the summertime. Too hot for the females and the Bucks also.

You might as well start out right.

We raise all meat rabbits and we have zero problems at this time. Make sure the rabbits are protected from neighbor dogs.

Good luck and have fun.
