Do you realize what happened here today? Ron/PA posted a simple opinion, a spark landed on a dust-covered dead issue and it took on a virtual wildlife of its own. And thanks to all your efforts, i finally figured out what an ETD is - it's a rallying cry for the common man - (Yeah!) - it's an impromptu 1-act play - (YeaH!) - it's a vehicle for exemplifying the genius that lies dormant in us until triggered by cabin fever - (Oh YeaH!) - it's a celebration of american history and our love affair with wheeled devices - (Praise De LAWD!)- it's a means of smoking out the too-long hidden (and all his chillun!) - the ETD's beauty lies in its ultimate unattainability. Even though we may never actually lay hands on one of those lovelies(perish the thought - by gum i'll watch ebay) , fire it up and hear it's throaty hum, there's still no reason we can't kick off our boots and tramp like giddy kids thru our imaginations. It's a prime example of the big dream, i'm tickled to have been a part of its revival & feel lots better for it. Thanks again Ron! lol

There seems to be a temporary amnesty. Something to do with an international shortage of tinfoil.

That is correcto-mundo Mr Fawteen. I read somewhere, (maybe in Unpopular Science Mag) that there will be a surcharge on each roll of tin foil sold. The shortage is being caused by the Japanese importing all the scrap metals (tinfoil being high on their list) for construction projects. The success of the aforementioned unmentionable tin-foil hat has led them into new research. This researcht shows tinfoil under-girders (or maybe it said tinfoil under-garments) are effective in preventing earthquakes in the Japanese Islands. We may face such a shortage here that the existance of tin-foil hats may be threatened. The Federal Government may be forced to put the T.F.H. (tin-foil hat) on the endangered list. This could only result in the value of existing T.F.H.s increasing. I forsee a general movement from porkbelly futures to T.F.H. futures, further driving up their value in the comodity markets. There will be vast fortunes made and lost in this new market and those with the T.F.H. already in posesssion will be in the forefront of this market. The new Wall Street cry in the 21st century may well be "HANG ON TO YOUR HATS", tin foil hats that is.
