Came back from breakfast and there was was a whole family with cameras on the road out front. The gal was from omaha, her grampa built this place and she spent many summers here. We compared notes on what who added and she told me a little history. I confirmed the "stage road" aspect & pointed out a couple old neighbors who are still around. So it's good to know something about what the place has seen. :)

I've been unofficially adopted by the folks that grew up in this house! They come around every year or two, whenever they have a reunion. The "baby" (84 years old the last time I saw her) was the last of the original builders kids to be born here. There was 12 of those kids and the next generation had 11 kids, so I've got probably over 60 folks that come by to "see the old homestead". This year I actually got a warning that the reunion is coming up the first part of august. Gotta start cleaning! They're a wonderful bunch of people and I'm tickled to learn so much of this places' history.
