there are approximately 30,000 mercenary soldiers under contract to the US gov.t that are serving in iraq. most are classified "security" forces. i did not know that. anyone else hear of that?

Hadn't heard the numbers, but it has been widely reported for the past year or so that there are "contract security" people over there. Heck, I work in a big company, we got "contract security" people all over this country too. Ever been in a large bank? I bet they got "contract security" people working there. Cheaper and easier than having those people on you payroll full time and paying their benefits, training, etc, especially if you don't need them all the time.

it would be interesting to know how many of the so called collition forces are there because they were BOUGHT by the us. i am sure most are not here to free the world of terriosts . their polititians future is not at stake like the us and the british . remember all inteligence that they said had to justify the invasion ? nearly all made up lies and bought false information . i see a lot of liars or fools .could be combimiation of both . just might be some moles there having us fight someone elses war . after all wasn't that hansen man there about 25 years without detection and all he wanted money .the public is easily educated (brain washed) to support what ever .

My mom (rest her soul) made a good point when the least iraqi fracas started: Here we went again, putting our A-squad on the line against ill-equipped renegades. Why not make it a fair contest? We had a million lusty prisoners in this country at the time. Instead of sending civilized young people, a goodly number of these fellas enjoy killing and are pretty good at it. Put them on planes, issue arms on arrival, and promise amnesty if they can straighten this mess out in -oh- a couple years. The incarceration savings alone would defray expenses. :)

yeah I was reading an article that says America is running out of troops because it pays so much better to be contract labor that the lifers are being discharged and hiring back out as American hit men.

It really screwed up the Bush re-call draft plan because all the fellers that are jumping ship have already fulfilled all the discharge requirements so the DOD cannot force them to stay active or draft them back into active service.

Oh well maybe the Scrub team can get it all worked out before we invade Grenada again so there will be plenty of troops to go around.

I knew it from my days in VN. Try looking at some of the classified ads in the Soldier of Fortune magazine. That will really open your eyes.

hopefully they won,t have to play by the rules and follow the geneva convention, when only one side plays by the rules it puts the other side at a distinct disadvantage.
