in the movie "field of dreams" there is a scene where kevin costner is mowing down the corn to build (it and they will come) baseball field. other than having his kid sit on his lap what GLARING thing is wrong with the close-up of the mowing operation?????

have to watch the movie again, been to the field a few times, they even encourage you to pick an ear of corn from the outfield, no charge. SIL fed it to the birds, have to go get another. No charge to get in, gave them a $20 deposit to get some gloves and bats and balls, (refundable), and at 71 years of age I was in the infield playing hardball. It truly is a beautiful place for any baseball fan.

I've never seen that movie so I couldn't participate in your post. But it reminds me of an ad Navistar had a couple of years ago. It showed the driver's eye view of the dash with the speedometer reading 65, the tach reading 1500, 60lb oil presure, 180degrees coolant, and the parking brake button was pulled out!!
Gotta love it. LOL

Ok,nobody else got it so,was it the fact that the PTO was not turning, therefore the "mower" was NOT working in the closeup?

Easy...    Posted 07-26-2004 at 11:39:30       [Reply]  [No Email]
"mowing operation?????"

There's your problem...

You don't 'mow' corn...

Cut, pick, chop, even harvest...But no one 'mows' corn...

;-)

Doggone - it beats me -- i used to nap thru mowing - the horses knew the meadow and where the water can was anyway so it was self-propelled. Seriously though, i walked up on my cousin during lunch and he was leaning on a horse - and they were both asleep. :)

I dont watch TV. Long ago there was a TV show every week,,There was a stupid professor who went everywhere and figured everything out when an emergency came about. They were in the desert in the Mid East once..The jeep had a malfunction..While the professor remanufactured the part needed he told the folks along with him that they need not die of thirst ..Because the radiator had plenty of water. Ofcourse ..He knew all this but failed to consider that ethelene glycol is in that water.
