How big a pond?I have a farm pond and a koi pond.We found the magic trick for clear water in koi pond.We bought a rubber maid water tank.We put sand about 8" on bottom.we put a layer of this black material husband uses when he digs trenches they line ditch with this so stones etc dont get in.We put layer of that.We had tube water pump up in tank.TYheres a drain at the bottom front of tank /The water filtered down through material, sand out the bottom. It took 2 days to clear. Its a pretty big pond.It stayed clear.

Barley Straw placed in Pond will do a fair job.

Hang in there, somebody'll get back to ya within a short time.I believe its the barley straw(stems)in bales that in someway chemically neutralizes the algae and improves clarity(from past comments here).
