Anyone know how long it takes them to produce. I planted in March and they are taking over the garden. I scratched around yesterday but found none. My Mom said now is about the time to plant and that I planted to early. Thanks in advance for the info.

A) Yes, you probably planted them too early. I don't even plant them that early and I am almost to the Gulf of Mexico. If you are in south Florida, I appologize.

B) I let mine grow all summer. Keep letting them go and have faith. I always plant mine along the edge of one of my gardens where I can let the vines go crazy. They take a lot of space to grow.

Hey, Vic, I thought all you good democrats knew how to spell potato after the big Dan Quale hype. LOL

It is potato singular; and potatoes (with the 'e') plural.
The same for tomato ,single and tomatoes. plural, which is the error Vice President Quale made,
can you imagine some one so dumb being a VP?

Being a republican myself I made an effort to learn the correct way so I would not be denigrated as a dummy by the 'other side'.

I only planted one. It was sprouting an about to go bad so I did not even cut it up I just dug a hole in a open spot in the row and left some of the vine hanging out. Now that one Sweet Potato should make some Sweet Potatoes if I am luck.........LOL

Yes I hope that one sweet potato makes you a whole lot of sweet potatoes. LOL

Those tomato potato words sure can make a person stop and think. I had never paid much attention to how that worked until poor Dan Quale under pressure was asked to spell tomato. He spelled it tomatoe, I probably had misspelled it many times before that happened.

It is amazing to me that the media made such an issue of this that it made Dan Quale a joke in the public eye. Shows the power of the media and still there are folks who do not see the way they lean.

Yep, I spelled it just like Dan did until that happened too. I have tried to watch it since then. Your also right about the media. They should be lined up and every other one should be shot first thing every morning.

Sorry, Vic, I do not know how long it takes them to produce.
I do know it does not take long for them to disappear in a sweet potato pie!
I love sweet potatoes baked with a dab of butter, in pies or even cut in strips and fried like french fries. Yummy!!
