Well, I have trouble abiding politicians and politics as well.

But, the Democrats (and Ralph Nader, fwiw) are the ones that are talking about development of alternative energy sources, in order to wean us from our oil addiction.

Frankly, issues like gay marriage, abortion, prescription drug benefits, and whether the president got a BJ from an intern are all equivalent to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic if we don't do something about our oil dependence and our trashing of the planet.

Once we develop any of the various alternative energy possibilities, in addition to addressing global warming and environmental degradation, it should help the environment, create jobs, and liberate us from OPEC.

Sorry for the serious note, but this is important.

Heard on the local radio station if you're bored
with the conventions and want something more
exciting, Home Depot is sponsering a contest to
see which brand of paint dries fastest. LOL

yes, Yes, YES! It isn't like years gone by when there was some suspense about who would be chosen. Frankly, I don't care to watch either party's pep rally. Now if GW were to dump Cheyney, there could be something intrestin' Not that I really want something to happen, but if a terrorist were to pick a time to attack......
I can't believe that the media think we all want to see the same bits over and over and over. They must think we are all short memory'ed simpletons. I'm half tempted to send some e-mails to the networks about it. Something to the effect of "Dear Sirs: re: the convention coverage, Ho Hum! Until you decide to run some real shows, I'll be watching something else. Bye!"" I guess UPN is loving this.

Which one? I saw bits and pieces of the widow Heinz and her "it's all about me" speech, is that the one?

OK. Now I don't want to hear you brag when the Repubs have their bash. I won't say any more. If you do not want to hear some one trash you thoughts then don't throw rocks at others. That is what I learned in church.

By the way I am fed up with both sides. I thought we lived in America where we had the right to have our own opionion(sp)and not the right to insist that all others think as I do.

I just put this on another site, I think I'll put it here to. I will not debate politics with anyone, I have my opinion, which isn't much, and I know I'm slightly uninformed..(big surprise!)
I think I'll probably vote for Bush At least we know who he is and what he's doing. That and there's just something about John Kerry that bothers me.

This picture sums up my thoughts on the options for president. Who knows what kind of sh!t we will get into next!

Like I said, maybe Bush isn't all that good, maybe he is. It depends on who you are. My thinking is, we(the voters) are the convict in the picture.

1.) Butch and Sundance
2') Stan and Ollie
3.) Bevis and Butthead
4.) Amos and Andy
Which one fits best? John

dumb and dumber gets my vote for a title. Al Gore didn't carry his home state of Tennessee and Bill Clinton didn't have enough pull/influence in his home state of Arkansas (after two terms in the white house) to help Al Gore carry it either.
Neither party has a lot on the other. It is a sad state when the most honorable men to run in both parties in recent memory is Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter.

None of the above...    Posted 07-28-2004 at 11:17:08       [Reply]  [No Email]
I vote for...

Mutt & Jeff...
