and may good things come your way.....the rain of last nite has made my appearance here possible, and, another trip to the "specialist", is being entertained for nine o'clock. No chance for boredom here.....

Also have a question for those in the know....about a song of the fifties, that described "row houses"....a phrase, or parts of, from the song; "..little boxes, little houses, made of ticky tack, and they all look the very same....." could have been sung by, either Allan Mills, or, Ed McCurdy, [SP]? I believe it was a childrens song, and have been plagued with the rememberence of it, especialy since the arrival of grand kids..... menga takk in advance, R.E.L.

Pete Seeger recorded a song like you are describing. It was a protest song about how the suburbs were being built. The complaint was that people's lives were being homogonized just like the communities.
Can't remember the name but I could hum the tune.
Maybe "Little Boxes"?, not sure.
Someone will know.

Heres the lyrics,couldn't find a clip(YET)

1. Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky,
Little boxes, little boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.
2. And the people in the houses
All go to the university,
And they all get put in boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
And there's doctors and there's lawyers
And business executives,
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.
3. And they all play on the golf-course,
And drink their Martini dry,
And they all have pretty children,
And the children go to school.
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university,
And they all get put in boxes
And they all come out the same.
4. And the boys go into business,
And marry, and raise a family,
And they all get put in boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.
