Looking for a bit of help -

I am looking for a small Rotary Wankel used in some old push mowers years ago. Looks just like it's big cousin from the snowmobiles, only it was mounted laying down so the shaft was vertical.

I also need a model 13B Ohlson & Rice (O & R) chainsaw engine. These were found in old Orline, Ford, etc chainsaws.

I need one for instructional purposes for a class that I teach. I am willing to pay for them but price is an issue as I will not be reimbursed for expenses.

Thought maybe some of you guys might just know of somewhere to look.

My apologies for being off topic, but the class starts in 2 weeks and so far I have not been able to locate either of these.

Oops, I got the model wrong. I actually have a Model 149 ORLine saw with a type 236 engine, if it is any help to you.

I don't know if you still could use an ORLine saw, but I have a Model 123 which may have the engine you need. It actually runs, too, but needs a bit of work. I'd sell it pretty cheap, too, if you are still interested.

Go to the local fea market and tell them what you are looking for, It will take a little time, I don't know if 2 weeks will be long enough, they might be able to help you or send you to another source, they get around and deal in all kinds of items

Sorry I can't help you, but just wanted to tell you that anything posted in a neighborly spirit is welcome on these boards; there isn't any "topic" except what you want to talk about at the moment!

Not much help.but found following info on a wankel fan site:
Wolf from Germany made a lawnmower with a Sachs engine. Some came in red and yellow.
NSU at one time had a Wankel RCE lawnmower in use on its grounds.
Arctic Cat, the snowmobile manufacturer also had a lawnmower as a novelty item in 1973. It was the "Grass Cat" with an NSU 4 hp rotary engine.
Curtiss-Wright , the original holder of Wankel rights in the US did research on applying RC engines to small power applications including lawnmowers
