Just thought I d drop by to say hey. Been busy at work still havent gotten permits for the landfill we used to run It amazingly takes 30 das per signature at the Governers office. Dad and I are moving about 15 000 cubic yards of dirt for the bosses new parking lot wit one dozer and one old scraper thats fun toting parts to.
I have been having a few problems at work with our new employee, I hope soon he gets run off. Hes a know it all and little younger than my dad. Hes only been moving dirt for about 5 years just roughing work. Dads been at it45 years and Ive been at it 10 so we have a big problem when he runs his mouth about the way we do things. I didnt want to hire him but dad thought he was a good fella. My main peeve is he adjusts things that dont need to bee messed with Scraper seat, bushog tail wheel and such. He mangled the tail wheel on our new bushog we used to manicue the grass around our entrances and our lake there. Then tried to tell me he accidently bumped a ditch bank with it. I could tell by the damage he poad to be in high range reverse when he did it.
Hes been using the bushog on the tractor while ive been helping dad build the parking lot in the next town. When he gets in from driving the garbage truck he gets on the tractor and bush hogs.. I dont have a problem with that but since we run a top rate outfit we like to keep our wild Isailias, canna lillies, spider lillies and other wild flowers around the pond or on some of the hill sides. Hes hard headed on keeps saying he forgets and mows one or 2 down per trip. He complains about how stupid they look but EPA, the Governer and my bosses love the way we keep the landfill like a park. I told him mow any of the floweres down and it going back to the plant for him to work. He also likes to pry in my business all week folks were telling me he was asking around trying to find out what my bosses pay me salary and then pay for my excavator and backhoe work along with my welding and dumpster maintenance. He later tried to ask dad alot of questions about how to run the landfill whch dad an I are the only 2 blueprints to it. I told dad Id give him my newer Mack truck driving job to soley move dirt and maintain the landfill as thats the only way to keep him off the other machines. especially our new bushog lol. Dad says he cant just fire him because his brother and nephew live close by and are friends but to me that doesnt matter much I made it 15 years without knowing them. I think if he keeps it up we will send him to the plant the next opening we get. Hes already commented on getting his wife out there to work in our new office to count trucks that will be hauling out there. I got a bad look at this morning when he started that mess when I said I already know what she's supposed to look like lol.
On a good note I almost have a new gorgeous girlfriend. She told me shes been wanting to ask me out for a few weeks now. Her best friend is my bartender and she kinda set us up. hopefully in a few more days I can give a mo bedda set of details lol maybe even inviote her over to say hey to yall lol.

I've known of some people that could tell a long yarn like you just did, but I do believe you have rightly outdone all of em. Keep it goin...

I had alot to catch up on lol. Im so tired at the end of the day when i get off work and then I have to come home and work on my own equipment ans take care of the other chores here. It rained me out of todays overtime so I can post today lol.
Maggie TX I hope this young lady works out well to lol. We've met each other a few times but both of us were kinda shy. I kinda like hanging out with folks my own age now still takes alot of time to get used to it.
As for the Landfill its been on the EPA top landfill bulletin for the 8 years its been open. If a person wants to open a landfill in MS they have to tour ours first. And we ve even had 2 governers come to see it. My boss wants to have the company picnic out there next spring. All 750 folks from the plant we are going to expand the acreage around the pond by cutting all the under brush out.
As for the new helper being sent by God to help me with my atience If he doesnt straighten up soon he may get to meet him lol. He had the headlights and ignition wires messed up on the truck this morning as well as the fuel cut off in the cab. Oh well its just a few more days till I can commision him to truck driving only.

Taylor, it's good to hear from you again! You sound like you are pretty happy with your work in spite of the guy who is a pest. I suppose there is one like him in almost every job in the country that has more than a couple guys on it. Just tell yourself that maybe God sent this guy around to help you learn patience and go ahead on. ;)

Congratulations on the new girlfriend! Gorgeous and her best friend is a bartender? Sounds like a plan to me! :)

And on a serious note, I think it is so great that ya'll make it a point to try to keep flowers growing to beautify the area around your landfill. That shows you take pride in your job and I like that.

Not sure but that patience theory might work, maggie. I can see it's advantages -- "My patient friend, i'm convinced God sent you around so's i could perfect my right cross!" and go ahead on! lol
